KickiPop™ Chronicles Blog Post #7 – Everly’s Christmas Surprise

Harmony High Christmas Song Contest 🎄

Excitement is in the air at Harmony High! The school just announced a Christmas Song Contest, and the stakes couldn’t be higher — the winner will earn a wild card spot on the KickiPop™ World Album.

The girls could hardly believe it when they heard the news. Not only would they get the chance to spread holiday cheer with their music, but this contest could change everything. A holiday song on the album? That would be unforgettable.

With creativity buzzing, the KickiPop™ girls began sketching out festive melodies, playful lyrics, and magical harmonies. But with so much talent in one group, one question lingered: Whose version would shine the brightest?

Splitting into Teams

Aya, Miyoshi, and Prisha worked on a heartfelt piece Aya had written years ago for her little brother Evan, called “Santa’s Nice List.”

Meanwhile, Melody and Catalina took a completely different route, reimagining the holiday sound with something bold and fresh. Their song was called “Rock Christmas” — a track designed to make everyone rethink what a Christmas classic could be.

All weekend long, the girls poured themselves into their songs. By Monday morning, each group felt like they had a brand-new holiday anthem ready to go.

Recording Magic

At lunch, they shared their songs with each other. Everyone was impressed — so impressed that each girl wanted to sing both songs! Luckily, Miyoshi was one step ahead. True to form, she had already booked studio time that very afternoon. All she needed was the sheet music for one of the school’s house bands, who had agreed to back them during the session.

That afternoon, the recording went smoother than they could’ve dreamed. Both songs were fully tracked without a hitch. They ran out of time for final polish, but came back before school the next morning to finish up. By the end of the day, their submissions were turned in and ready to shine.

The Big Reveal

The following afternoon, just as lunch was starting, the familiar ding of the school’s digital bulletin board signaled an announcement. The principal’s voice boomed over the speakers:

“I’ve just received our first Christmas Contest submissions, and I’m thrilled to share them with you!”

The cafeteria erupted as both “Santa’s Nice List” and “Rock Christmas” played through the speakers. Students clapped, cheered, and shouted their approval. The KickiPop™ girls walked into lunch beaming — their music was a hit.

But then… the bell chimed again. Another submission had come in.

To their shock, a new version of “Rock Christmas” started playing. The voice was hauntingly familiar.

It was Everly.

Everly’s Twist

The cafeteria doors opened, and Everly strutted in to a roar of cheers. Catalina’s face flushed with fury. Everly wasn’t just singing any song — she had taken their “Rock Christmas.”

Before the others could stop her, Catalina stormed toward Everly.

“Why did you record our song? You don’t even like us!”

Everly gave her a cool, dismissive look.

“Don’t you work in the cafeteria?” she said with a smirk.

“No, I don’t,” Catalina shot back. “I wrote that song — with Melody!”

Everly’s lips curled into a smug grin.

“Then you should be thrilled. I fixed it. I made it sound great. You’re welcome. Now… be gone.”

Catalina’s blood boiled, but the other girls pulled her back, whispering, “Don’t let her get to you.”

That’s when Melody noticed something even more shocking. On the digital bulletin board, Everly’s face was displayed — with the KickiPop™ name above it.

The girls froze. Everly wasn’t just stealing their song — she was claiming their name.

Without hesitation, the group marched straight to the principal’s office.

This wasn’t over.
